An Australian Standard Typing Certificate is an accredited certificate that records your typing speed in Net Words Per Minute (WPM) and your typing accuracy %, from a 5‑minute Main Test that follows the method set out in AS2708‑2001. It's suitable as evidence of typing speed and accuracy for formal job applications, resumes and cover letters, and employers can verify it online with its own verification link and QR code.

Straight after purchase you'll receive an order confirmation email with your receipt. Your Welcome Email with your sign-in details follows within minutes, any time of day, with no password needed. Follow the sign-in details in that email to start practising. Can't see it after 5 minutes? Check your junk or spam folder, and if it hasn't arrived after 15 minutes, email us with your order number.

The Main Test itself takes five minutes to complete and is sat on a desktop or laptop computer. However, you are not limited in the time you can spend practising. Unlimited Practice Tests, which also work on a phone, help you prepare thoroughly at your own pace before your official attempt. Our Main Tests follow the Australian Keyboarding Speed Test Standard (AS2708‑2001).

Yes. The Standard Pack includes three Main Test subscriptions and the Super Pack includes six. Each Main Test you start uses one subscription and produces its own certificate, so you can share your best result. Need another attempt later? Add a Top-Up for one more Main Test subscription, using the same email address as your account. Your Main Test subscriptions don't expire.

Your certificate shows the name you enter in the Student Full Name field at checkout, exactly as you type it, so please use your full legal name. One email address is one candidate: later purchases on the same email address are added to the same account and keep your name as it is. Buying for someone else? Use their email address. Need your name corrected? Email us and we'll update your account.

A webcam is recommended but not required. With Automated Certified Proctoring (ACP), still snapshots are taken at the start, midpoint and end of your Main Test, with your consent. You can decline and your typing result is unaffected. Your certificate and its verification page show how many snapshots were captured. There's no video or audio recording.

Every certificate has its own verification link and QR code. Share your certificate PDF or verification link and employers can confirm your result online, with no account needed. While requirements vary depending on the industry and role, many employers in Australia look for a typing speed between 40 and 60 WPM. Administrative roles, data entry positions and similar jobs often have specific benchmarks, which may also include accuracy thresholds, so check the job advertisement for what's required.
